Many teachers have asked if we have a platform to use with a webcam. After all, using a webcam would be even less expensive than using a camcorder, and it could be run directly through a computer, eliminating the need for a separate video connection. And so the LS-WC was born. It incorporates an autofocusing Logitec webcam capable of delivering 8-megapixel images as well as high-definition video. It also features adjustible zoom and RightLight technology, which make it suitable for use in a semi-lit classroom. It also allows either photo (see above) or video capture with the click of a button. Incorporating feedback from teachers, our new platform is narrower (14") and the camera arm is shorter and more flexible. The result is an unusual-looking document camera, to be sure, but one that is simply amazing in terms of its capabilities and image quality. With it, we include a USB extension cable that allows the LS-WC to be used up to 12 feet away from the computer, cable ties, and instructions for customizing the Windows desktop for optimal performance with this unique camera. And at $174.99, we think you'll agree that the LS-WC document camera is in a class by itself in terms of sheer bang for the buck.
Pros: Easily the least expensive document camera solution available. Skype compatible. Captured video files are compatible with Windows MovieMaker for easy editing. Post videos on YouTube with the push of a button. Requirements: Windows XP or Vista with 1Ghz or faster processor, 200 MB hard drive space, minimum 128 MB RAM
